In my research of the media niche about self-care, I continue to focus on physical, mental and psychological health. I have created 2 accounts on different platforms to analyze the audience that differs from each other. Thus, I focused on the blog format in tiktok to reach a larger audience and fast promotion, and the meme format in X, to reach an audience that is interested in the text format of content and easy quick information.
Based on personal experience, knowledge gained in the lessons, audience analysis, the creation of buyer persona and the content I viewed from other Russian-speaking bloggers such as @beautyholic_v, @rutkismaria, @dipyrkkh, and others who talk about self-care, I made a plan for how I will create my own content. First of all, I noticed that the most popular videos include either professional editing or background videos to attract attention. I chose the second option for my blog. Since I had previously drawn up a portrait of my audience in other subjects, I realized that these are mainly women from the CIS countries, aged 16-25 years, who are interested in my media niche. That’s why I tried to create my own content for them, without forgetting about the rest of the audience. So I shot 3 conversational videos in Russian with an attractive video superimposed for my blog in TikTok (What is self-care, Myths in self-care, Traps in self-care) and 3 entertaining posts in my account in X in English.
When creating content in Tiktok, I used the CupCut application, where I found a lot of interesting fonts and convenient tools for editing videos. Also, in order to make my videos seem more attractive, I used video content from YouTube, which attracts attention, it can be seen on my videos. For my X account, I searched for various memes on pinterest and instagram, which I often saw and changed to match the theme of my account and which perfectly matched my videos from Tiktok.
However, while creating content and trying to bring it as close as possible to the appropriate trends, I encountered some difficulties, which mainly consisted of the critical part.
First of all, I tried to make the content unique and looking through various articles and videos, I noticed a lot of misconceptions in my media sphere, as well as that people can forget about themselves while taking care of others. Having stumbled upon an article about self-help while caring for others, among physicians (Journal of Clinical Psychology 76 (9), 1543-1562, 2020), which really responded to me, I had the idea to tell in my videos that taking care of yourself is first of all getting rid of stress and complete well-being. Due to the fact that I had the initial idea, I was able to implement the following.
At the next stage, there were some difficulties with recording content, as it required maximum preparation — calmness, since it was the first time I recorded such videos, silence, good sound and light, which I managed to cope with.
The most important test was with the promotion of content. Since it is enough to know your audience, the time of its activity and trends to promote a video in tiktok, then on the social network X, I did not understand the algorithms for promoting and analyzing the audience, but referring to my previous audience analysis, I created content.
In conclusion, I would like to note that I gained a lot of important skills when creating my digital artefacts for my media communication and advertising business. First of all, it is a skill of deep understanding of the audience. To create high-quality content, I analyzed the audience according to several criteria: demography, professional training, psychography, goals and pain points. In the future, I can use this analysis both for my work and using this analysis for other people. Secondly, I have significantly improved my skills in content creation and critical thinking. I have once again worked out the skill of creating interesting and enticing scenarios and storytelling. Moreover, I have learned to better combine entertainment and educational content. I also had to master new platforms, such as X, where it is necessary to briefly and concisely state the idea. I would like to pay special attention to the skill of self-presentation and interaction with the audience as an opinion leader, which used to be very difficult for me. To distribute the content, I had to study the way of promotion through hashtags, the relevance of trends, and so on.
Summing up all the skills acquired during the creation of this study, I was able to create attractive, promoted and interesting content.
